Potato battery

 What we were learning about how to make a potato power a small light and we used 7 potato to make the light work.

I found it hard to clip the copper wire in to the alligator clip and we had to make like 4 and that took like 12 of the time we had.

I found it easy to put the nails in to the potato and then get the made alligator clips and clip them on to the nail that we put in the potato.

Next time I will work a bite faster on making the alligator clip so we can get some more time to test in the potato. 

The race of my life time

 We were learning about writing a piece of writing that is about being in the 100m sprint at the olympics and describing how we would of felt during this moment in life.    

I found it hard to describe how I felt in this moment because I have never been in this part of life before and this could happen in real life but it's made up./ 

I found it easy to think were I was because in my brain it comes up with a creative place and I mean the creative place doesn't have any thing that are not real.   

Next time I will deceived a bit more how I felt at the start of the race and at the end of the race there wasn't enough words how I felt and I just said I win the 100m race.   

LN Book Review

 In the book I recommended to read this book because if you what to learn about the kid olympic this is the book to read. The favorite bite in the book is when they do tug of war and the people that made this book put as the kids favorite bit in the book to.

This is my create about if the kid olympic was hold in awapuni school so i put people running to the finish line Like a marathon and then put a olympic logo and at the bottom I put kid so it's like a kid olympic proper logo and then screen shot the awapuni logo and then inserted it.

Brain box

 Test 1 fail test 2 fail test 3 fail test 4 was a good test and we finally got it to work. After test 4 we realised that we didn't have the right pieces to do the test but it didn't become a failure until we got to borrow some pieces from some friends. The pieces that we need to complete the test 2 fuses and that's all that we needed to finish off. The piece of science that were making today was a windmill. the wind will be worked and the spinning thing span up into the air and worked.

Olympics value animation

 Hi my name is Lucas and I made a animation about the three values of the Olympics so they are friendship excellence and respect. In the Olympics you would need to have those three values. The thing that I found easy to was to poly-line the characters and move them around and places where they should be. In the animation I put me falling over and someone coming to help up and then run to the  finish line with me and that is friendship. excellence means like trying your best in the competition. The last but not lease respect respect others yourself and the equipment you use in the Olympics. Me Lucas and my friend Alex put on faces on the people that were running so it looks cool that we were competing in the Olympics. So what do you think?

My time to shine 29/7/21

This is my little writing about the race of my life time. So I was in the tokyo olympics competing for new zealand and I put in my writing what I was thinking about and how I felt in this moment of my life. We write a descriptive piece of writing about me in the olympic. I wasn't actually competing for new zealand I am only ten years old and the distance of the run is just the littlest amount of running it's 100m and in the school that I am in we do a run that goes for 3km and that's more than tripling the amount of running that we do at school.Thats my writing so what do you think I can improve on?

The egg drop

In today's experiment we did the egg drop so to do this experiment you will need to have 1 cup some water a flat tray or a plate 1 egg and 1 cardboard toilet roll so then you put the water in the cup and put the tray or plate on the top. Then get the cardboard toilet roll and put it facing up. When you got the egg put it in the middle and then hit the plate and the egg goes into the cup if you are lucky.

This is based on Newton's first law of motions and the point was for the egg not missing the cup.

M&M stacking challenge

 How do you do it?

Stones are placed one on top of the other to produce sculptures which are held together by nothing other than gravity. More experienced practitioners of stone stacking are also famous for building archways and other interdependent structures from rocks and stones found in nature.

Cold air balloon

 We were learning about ' when vinegar and baking soda mix, an endothermic reaction occurs. This produces carbon dioxide which inflates the balloon. The endothermic chemical reaction will also lower the temperature in the area surrounding the vinegar and baking soda so significantly that you will be able to easily notice the change in temperature. 

Next time I will ' When I try this experiment I will put more baking soda in a bottle and some more vinegar.

Balloon madness

 We were learning about what is action and reaction is and then we did balloon madness that links to  action and reaction and for the balloon we had some string a bit of straw and a balloon. Then we got the piece of thee straw and thread throw the line and then got the balloon and taped it on to the straw. Ttheen we blowed up the balloon and let the balloon go and boosted up the line and then came down the line like a zip line.

I found it hard to make the balloon go up the string because we did't know how much air is in the balloon  because we thought the a lot of air in the balloon would make it go high and a small amount of air would make it go slow and not long but the small amount of air go's longer.

I observed that so people had two balloon on the rocket and it made it worst because the balloon just spun around in a circle did  nothing cool. 

Next time I will try to balloon going up high and putting them in the right angle so they don't go bad and spun around.

Milk magic

 What happened... Milk is mostly water, but it also contains vitamins, minerals, proteins, and tiny droplets of fat suspended in solution. Fats and proteins are sensitive to changes in the surrounding solution (the milk).

What I learnt...I learnt that the hand washing liquid had a reaction to the milk with the food colouring and then made so magic in the milk.

 What Happened

Oil stays above the water because the oil is lighter than the water or, more specifically, less dense than water. The oil and water do not mix because of something called “intermolecular polarity.” Molecular polarity basically means that water molecules are attracted to other water molecules. They get along fine, and can loosely bond together (drops.) This is similar to magnets that are attracted to each other. Oil molecules are attracted to other oil molecules, they get along fine as well. But the structures of the two molecules do not allow them to bond together.

What I learnt

When you added the tablet piece, it sank to the bottom and started dissolving and creating a gas. As the gas bubbles rose, they took some of the colored water with them. When the blob of water reached the top, the gas escaped and down went the water.

Observations and results

When a bath bomb comes in contact with water, the baking soda and citric acid react to make carbon dioxide bubbles. This is an acid–base reaction, where baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) is a weak base and citric acid is a weak acid.

What I learnt

We learnt that all of the alkaline acids mixed together makes the little explosion when it touches something wet like water and oil.

Tryathlon day

 We were learning about how the tryathlon went and how the track looked like and where it went.

I found it easy to get pass tuturi in the swimming because I'm a good swimmer.

I found it challenging to catch up to tuturi in the running part ' the starting part.
